About the Conference
The 8th International We-B (Working For E-Business)
Conference on the theme E-Business: the Past, Present and Challenges
will be held from 28th to 30th November, 2007.
It will be hosted by Victoria University, Melbourne Australia and
will be conducted at the recently renovated City Flinders Street
Campus in central Melbourne, Australia.
Background of the conference
The We-B conference was originally conducted in
Western Australia before moving to Victoria, Australia. It has
traditionally been conducted prior to ACIS, the Australasian
Computer Information Systems Conference, which this year is to be
held in Toowoomba, Queensland. International and interstate
participants have often chosen to attend the We-B conference
enabling them to meet and work with colleagues and to enable them to
see more of Australia as they move between both conferences.
This boutique conference has proved to be popular
amongst the Australian and international IS community over the
years.
As
always, We-B 2007 aims to provide an opportunity for sharing and
networking among academics, community and industry specialists in
e-Business and related fields.
The conference theme in 2007 is ‘E-Business: the Past, Present and
Challenges for the Future’. In the past decade there has been
significant progress in the adoption of web-based IT systems in
business and government. The theme of this conference is to examine
the progress business has made in the area of web-based systems, the
lessons they have learnt, and the challenges business face for the
future. Nevertheless, papers have traditionally covered a wide
range of web-based related topics. The conference will again draw
participants from national and international organisations.
